Masumi graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He has worked as a physiotherapist for the Vancouver Canucks, Pacific Football Club, Vancouver Warriors, and Quest University Athletics, treating a wide range of amateur, professional and Olympic-level athletes.

As a former NCAA Division I athlete and Canadian Under-20 National Soccer team player, he has experience training and competing at the highest levels. Masumi has taken numerous courses towards a Diploma in Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy and is a certified IMS practitioner. He also previously held an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation. His specific interests include ACL rehabilitation, running-related injuries, and sport-specific rehabilitation. Masumi currently volunteers with the Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA) at the Native Youth Health and Wellness Centre, providing accessible physiotherapy services for Indigenous youth aged 12-30.

When he’s not in the clinic you can find him running in the neighbourhood or on the North Shore trails with his two dogs, taking in the arts in the city, or trying to catch a wave in Tofino.
