Dr. Catherine Ho

Dr. Catherine Ho is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician (Physiatrist) specializing in Sports Medicine and electromyography (EMG). Dr. Ho studied nutrition and dietetics at the University of British Columbia. She completed her medical degree at the University of British Columbia in 2010. She then went on to complete her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto in 2015. She is board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) as well as the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has done additional training in electrodiagnostic medicine and is certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (CSCN) in Electromyography (EMG). She has also obtained her Diploma in Sports Medicine from the Canadian Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) and her Certificate in Performance Arts Medicine by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and Performance Arts Medicine Association (PAMA).

Dr. Ho served as Medical Director at Fortius Sport and Health. Since its closure in December 2020, she co-founded Restore Sports Medicine. Dr. Ho has extensive experience in disability assessment and management. She regularly chairs Claim Review Committees for long-term disability claim appeals.

Dr. Ho has worked at Providence Healthcare, a rehabilitation hospital in Toronto. She was involved in the musculoskeletal, amputee and stroke rehabilitation programs. Dr. Ho has expertise in sports and performance arts medicine, orthotics and prosthetics, spasticity management (eg. botulinum toxin injections), and electrodiagnostic testing.

Dr. Ho is passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities optimize their function and live a healthy lifestyle. She is an advocate for exercise as medicine and injury prevention. She enjoys staying active running marathons, kickboxing and playing floor hockey. Dr. Ho has a background in performance arts and obtained her Associate Diplomat in Piano Performance (ARCT) from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She has provided medical coverage at various sporting events including the Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games and Skate Canada.
